Tagging Strategies: See Which Setups Actually Make Money
Not every setup pulls its weight. Learn how tagging each trade with a strategy lets you compare win rate and net P&L per strategy, so you double down on what works and cut what doesn't.
Your account P&L is the average of everything you do — your best setup and your worst habit, blended until neither is visible. Tagging splits them apart: label every trade with the setup it belonged to, and the journal turns from one blended number into a per-strategy scoreboard.
Make the tags mean something
Tag the setup, not the mood: 'London breakout', 'NY reversal', 'trend pullback' — names tied to entry criteria you could write down. Five or six tags beat twenty; if two tags describe the same entry logic, they're one strategy. And tag the exceptions honestly: an 'untagged' or 'impulse' bucket, reviewed monthly, is often the most profitable thing to delete from your trading.
Reading the per-strategy numbers
For each tag, MirrorChain's journal gives you the same instruments you use on the whole account — count, win rate, profit factor, net P&L. The classics you'll find: the setup you love that nets zero across fifty trades; the boring one that quietly pays for everything; the 'good' strategy whose profit all came from two outlier wins (check average win vs the distribution before scaling it).
Sample size guards you from lying to yourself — judge no tag on fewer than 20–30 trades, and read the core metrics per tag exactly as you would account-wide.
Then act on it
The point of the scoreboard is the roster change: scale the tags that earn, shrink or delete the ones that don't, and re-check quarterly — edges decay. Because every copied trade across your accounts journals automatically, the per-strategy view spans your whole operation, not just one login.
